Creating a differentiated community experience strategy that drives well-being growth in rural settings

Nov 1, 2020

Roundtable: Creating a differentiated community experience strategy that drives well-being growth in rural settings (at BCWWA Virtual Conference, November 2020)

In recent years, public aspirations for improving the rural and Indigenous communities’ water systems have risen faster than what governments and the industry can realistically achieve.  Policymakers have set out targets for the water industry to accomplish, but the water industry is left largely on its own to figure out the know-how required to actually hit these targets reliably over diverse non-urban contexts and populations.

In this roundtable, we are inviting participants to share their insights towards improving the policies, regulations, design guidelines, and industry practices, to define a new innovation agenda focused on enhancing the capacity and scale of SAILS - the streamlined approach to implementing localized solutions for non-urban communities.

The main theme is on how to generate positive interactions among various rightsholders and stakeholders to set new:

•       Solution standards that facilitate non-urban and Indigenous water industry growth.

•       Universities’ strategic response to rural communities’ changing expectations about what R&D should deliver.

•       Regulations and legislation that promote industry growth.

•       Chain of supply and distributions that promote suppliers to improve the quality of the solutions

•       Delivery protocols to improve productive efficiency
